    • Fred VanDeWater
      PEKIN - Fred W. VanDeWater, 71, of 3166 Upper Mountain Road, died suddenly at home after being stricken with an apparent heart attack on Tuesday (Oct. 17,1972). A native of Orleans County, he lived in Pekin since 1930 working as an electrician with the- Niagara-Mohawk Power Co. for more than 35 years before retiring in 1967. He was a member of St. Andrew Evangelical Lutheran Church, the Lutheran Laymens League, and he was an exempt member of the Pekin Volunteer Fire Co. He is survived by his wife, the former Rachel Strassburg, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at St. Andrews Evangelical Lutheran Church at 2 p.m. Friday with the Rev. Albert HGaal officiating. Burial will be in St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends may call at the, Rhoney Funeral Home, 5893 Hoover Road, Sanborn, from 7 to 9 p.m. tonight and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday.
