SCHMIDT DIES Bergholtz Woman Hies at Home After Lingering Illness NORTH TONAWANDA, Mar. 13 - Mrs. Lydia Schmidt. 36 years old. wife of Benjamin Schmidt, died yesterday at her home in Bergholz after a lingering illness. She was a lifelong resident of Bergholz. Besides her husband she is survived by two daughters, Hilda and Edna, and three sons, Raymond, Clarence and Richard, and two brothers, Erich and Charles Neubauer, all of Bergholz. The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the residence and half an hour later at the Holy Ghost church. Bergholz. Rev. John Kuchenbecker will officiate and interment will be in Holy Ghost cemetery. -- SCHMIDT FUNERAL Bergholts Woman Succumbs to Prolonged Illness. BERGHOLTZ, March 17. - The death of Mrs. Lydia Schmidt removes one of the most popular young residents of Niagara county. She was born in this village and was 86 years old. She had been ill since last fall. The funeral services, which were held at the home at 1 o'clock and at 2:30 at the Holy Ghost church, Thursday afternoon, were largely attended. Pall bearers were Fred Wurl, Frank Camann, August Schimschack, Henry Wlttkopp, Herman Strassburg and Grover Ziehm. Mrs. Schmidt is survived by her husband, Ben Schmidt and five children, Raymond, Clarence, Rlchard. Hilda, and Edna. Two brothers, Erlck Neubauer of Martinsville, and Charles Neubauer. She was laid at rest at the Holy Ghost cemetery, the Rev. John Kuchenbecker officiating. The floral tributes were many and beautiful.
