- Head of Tuscarora Indian Mission Dies
SANBORN - Services will be held at 1:30 tomorrow at the Bell Funeral Chapel, Niagara Falls, for John J. Ruhlman, 75, superintendent of the Tuacarora Indian Mission for 27 years. Mr. Ruhlman died Monday at Ransomville General Hospital. Mr. Ruhlman, who lived on Walmore Road, was a founder of the Niagara Falls City Mission. He was born in Ebenezer and operated grocery and meat stores in Niagara Falls for many years. Surviving are his wife, Caroline; two sons, the Rev. John Ruhlman. Belle View, Wash., and Harold O. Ruhlman, Laredo, Tex.; five daughters, Mrs Grace Yaxley, Mt. Vernon, Wa., Mrs. Helen Eisenhart, Sedro Wooley, Wa., Mrs Carl Wheeler, Ferndale, Wa., Mrs Richard Riffle, Concrete, Wa., and Miss Dorothy Ruhlman, French Equatorial Africa, Also five sisters, Mrs,. Henry Ellis, Mrs. Lillian Everitt and Mrs Claude Penner, all of Niagara Falls, Mrs. Claude York, Lewiston. and Mrs. Frank McCue, Honolulu; a brother, Edward, Niagara Falls; 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The Rev. Vincent D. Trimmer and the Rev. Fred Young will officiate at services. Burial will be in Riverdale Cemetery.
