  Notes	Lewiston Porter Echo LEWISTON - Bernard B. "Barney" Fura, 76, of Scovell Drive, a longtime operator of a motel in Niagara Falls, died Friday (May 27, 1994) in North Gate Manor Health Care Facility after a short illness. He was born Aug. 28, 1917 in Niagara Falls, to Stanley and Julia (Dombrowski) Fura. He had been a resident of Lewiston since 1982, after selling the motel business. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and gardener, as well as a jack-of-all-trades. He worked on the family farm on Walmore Road during his school years. He worked for the New York Central Railroad, retiring in 1962. In 1952, he built his home and motel, the Honeymoon Deluxe Motel on Niagara Falls Boulevard, which he operated for 30 years. He also worked for Carpenters Local 280 as foreman for various contractors on the Niagara Power Project, Niagara Falls Convention and Civic Center and the Somerset Project, before retiring in 1982. He was a member of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Lewiston, the LaSalle Sportsmen's Club and Carpenters Local 280. He is survived by his wife, Lottie T. (Walaszek) Fura of Lewiston; a son, Lawrence B. Fura, of Ransomville; two daughters, Joanne L. Nowak and Sharon L. Norbut, both of Lewiston; a brother, John G. Fura of Sanborn; three sisters, Pearl Laraba of North Tonawanda, and Josephine Ketch and Arlene Dyrda, both of Sun City, Ariz.; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Carl Fura, Robert Fura, Walter Fura, Vera Pawelek (sp-sic) and Bernice George. Visitation was held at the Zajac Funeral Home Inc., 319 24th St. A Mass of Christian Burial was said at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 620 Center St., Lewiston. Burial will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Town of Lewiston.
