On September 21, 1940, in Niagara Falls, NY, she married Hubert D. Stubbs, who passed away on August 31, 1990.. Mrs. Stubbs was a graduate of LaSalle High School in Niagara Falls. Along with her husband, she owned and operated the former Stubbs Food Market in Sanborn, NY for 25 years, which had been formerly known as the A. L. Pearce Store, which was owned by her father for 50 years.. Mrs. Stubbs retired with her husband to Shinglehouse in 1971. She enjoyed flower gardening and reading. She most especially loved spending time with her family.. Surviving are a son, Jon A. Stubbs of Oswayo; two daughters, Cherie (Dayton) Garling of Sanborn, NY and Jean A. Greene of Ellenville, NY; seventeen grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.. In addition to her parents, adoptive parents and husband, Mrs. Stubbs was predeceased by a son, Hubert E. Stubbs; a daughter, Karen Mitchell; two brothers; and a sister..
