NIAGARA FALLS - George C. Haseley, 89, of 1833 Saunders Settlement Road, died Thursday (June 12, 1975) in DeVeaux Manor Nursing Home after a long illness. A life-long resident of the Town of Lewiston, he had operated a farm on Saunders Settlement Road prior to retiring 15 years ago. He was a lifetime member of Peter's Lutheran Church and at one time served in the church council. Survivors include a son, Milton Haseley of Lewiston; a daughter, Mrs. Herbert (Sylvia) Jagow of Sanborn; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Peter's Lutheran Church with the Rev. Harold L. Baum officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call at the Rhoney Funeral Home, Sanborn, 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today. Memorials may be made to the St. Peter's Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.

Damage was estimated at more than $20,000 in a blaze which destroyed a barn on the farm of George Haseley, Saunders Settlement road near Colonial Village and is believed to have been started by lightning Chief James Pass, of Lewiston Fire Company, No. 2, reported that his volunteers spent the night at the site of the Haseley fire. The blaze in the barn was discovered shortly after Mr. Haseley and his son, Irwin, had left the barn, he said, and in three minutes the whole structure was burning. Destroyed as flames leveled,the barn were about 1,000 bushels of grain, a bull, two cows, three heifers two calves, one hog, two horses, a tractor standing near the structure and the family's two prized dogs. Quantities of hay and straw also went up in flames
